Wool& Industry Collaboration

In completion of my Industry Collaboration class, I collaborated with a partner to design a 3-look collection for Wool& that aligns with their mission and aesthetic but serves a niche that isn't currently being catered towards with their product line. In the initial stages of our project, we conducted comprehensive research on the company, their target customer, and the textile integral to the brand - merino wool knits and wovens. We met with a representative from the company throughout the term to learn about the company's mission, pitch designs, and get feedback on our design process.

Another element of the project was to exchange technical flats with another team and create prototypes for one look in each other's collections. We created a tennis dress based on a technical flat for a Nike tennis line, and sent our jumpsuit technical flat to be produced by another team. Producing physical prototypes helped me learn the importance of detailed technical flats and communication between designers, technical designers, and the production team.
